29-year-old Leo Nolan is the honorary captain of  Teamcannon.

Nolan began boxing at the age of seven at Cannon Recreation in Detroit, Michigan.  His uncle, Anthony Nolan had given up boxing that year to become a coach for the Police Athletic League and Kronk.  Leo was his first student.

In the beginning, Coach Nolan would take young Leo to spar with Oba Carr every day.  Leo still credits Carr for giving him the ‘heart' necessary in boxing.  "Oba put a whippin' on me every single day for about six months," remembers Leo.  When he learned to hang with Carr, Leo came into his own, eventually winning four National Championships.  While an amateur standout, Leo helped train two young kids in the gym, Rydell Booker and Rubin Williams.

Nolan turned professional in 1992 when he signed with manager Jackie Kallen.  After winning his first five fights, Leo got ‘caught up in the streets', and during an armed robbery was shot five times by a Detroit police officer.  As a result, Leo's boxing career was put on hold for nearly seven years.

After serving four years in prison, Leo returned to the gym with enlightened determination and trained with Booker and Williams, who had themselves become amateur stars.  Older and wiser, Leo reentered the ring with Williams and Booker on August 10, 2001, when they made their pro debuts.  The trio stepped into the ring as "Teamcannon."

Leo's first major challenge in the ring occurred on November 9, 2001, when he took on undefeated Julius Long who stood 7' 2".  Those who questioned whether Leo was big enough to fight in the heavyweight division were silenced when Long was handed his first defeat.

On June 21, 2002, Nolan won the Midwest Boxing Federation Heavyweight Title when he beat Mario Cawley 22-7, with scores of 100-89 by all three judges.

On September 20, 2002, Leo defeated Frank Wood, 19-2, to keep his unbeaten streak alive.

Leo is the captain of the Team.  He carries the scars of indiscretion with a sense of rebirth, and leads the team with hard earned insight both in and out of the ring.

He remains undefeated in more ways than one.
